Official Press Release: The Sidney Dive Expo February 28, 2007 On July 14-15, 2007, Sidney B.C Canada will host the largest SCUBA show ever held in Western Canada. The event will take place in the 10,000 square foot Bodine Hall and the outer courtyard patios at the Mary Winspear Center. The Sidney Dive Expo will attract visitors from all over Canada and the Pacific North Western USA. The show will feature over 40 exhibitors including the biggest names in SCUBA manufacturing, nonprofit groups, educational exhibitors, travel specialists, local charter operators, dive shops, inventors and training agencies. The show has a well rounded list of events, demonstrations and promos for all ages of diver and non diver alike including free PADI “Bubblemaker” kids and PADI adult Discover SCUBA pool sessions on site. Keynote speakers Mandy-Rae Cruickshank (women’s free diving world record holder), Howie Robbins (President, Artificial Reef Society of BC) and Jim Cosgrove (Manager of Natural History, RBC museum) will provide interesting and educational seminars in the presentation hall. Local dive charter operators Doc Side Charters, Emerald Sea Adventures, BC College of Diving, Sidney Dive n Surf, Quest Marine and Rockfish Divers will provide 2 special chartered dives departing from the Alpine Marine Adventure Center wharf on the Beacon Pier. Admission tickets are $10 at the door or $7.50 at select locations Sidney Dive n Surf, Frank Whites Dive Shop, Ogden Point Dive Shop, Wilson Diving and Rock Fish Divers.
